Otoplasty
The surgery takes place out-patient with local anaesthesia (accompanied by twilight anaesthesia). Depending on the deformity of the ear various surgery procedures can be applied.
Generally, a weakly developed antihelix fold leads to deformity of the ear. It will be brought into the right position by weakening the cartilage and fixing it by stiching up. Besides that, a concharotation is frequently carried out.
For a couple of days it is necessary to wear a head bandage. The surgery provides a lasting result.
